The Thunder God
Thor, son of Odin and Jörð, is one of the most powerful and well-known gods in Norse mythology. As the god of thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, protection of mankind, and also hallowing and fertility, Thor played a vital role in the Norse cosmos.
Known for his quick temper but fundamentally good nature, Thor is often portrayed as the protector of both Asgard and Midgard. He regularly battles against giants and other creatures that threaten the nine worlds.
While his father Odin is associated with nobility and wisdom, Thor was especially popular among common people, who looked to him for protection and blessed their lands in his name.
