Odin, the All-Father

The All-Father

Odin, the All-Father, stands as the chief god of the Norse pantheon. Known for his unquenchable quest for wisdom, he sacrificed one of his eyes at Mímir's well for the gift of understanding and hung himself from Yggdrasil for nine days and nights to gain knowledge of the runes.

As ruler of Asgard and chief of the Aesir gods, Odin oversees the realms of wisdom, poetry, death, divination, and magic. He welcomes fallen warriors to Valhalla, where they prepare for Ragnarök.

Often depicted as a wanderer, Odin frequently travels the Nine Worlds in disguise, seeking knowledge and testing mortals. He is accompanied by his ravens Huginn and Muninn, who bring him news from across all realms.
