Realm of Fire
Muspelheim is the scorching, blazing realm of fire and primal heat. It is one of the oldest worlds in Norse cosmology, created long before the gods themselves. This realm stands in stark contrast to the icy world of Niflheim, and the clash between their elemental forces helped form the very first living beings.
Muspelheim is ruled by Surtr, the mighty fire giant whose flaming sword is said to shine brighter than the sun. Under his command are the fire giants and other burning spirits who inhabit this volatile land of molten rivers, volcanic mountains, and endless infernos.
At the end of the world, during Ragnarok, Surtr and his forces will march from Muspelheim to bring destruction, burning the cosmos with a fire that will cleanse and renew creation.
