Jotunheim

The Realm of Giants, Wild and Untamed Land of Norse Mythology

Jotunheim, Realm of Giants

Land of Giants

Jotunheim, the homeland of the giants (jötnar), is a vast and untamed wilderness of towering mountains, deep forests, and frozen wastes. Located east of Midgard, it is separated from the realm of humans by dense forests and high mountains.

This harsh realm is home to various types of giants, from the frost giants who dwell in the frozen mountains to the stone giants who inhabit the rocky valleys. Despite their often antagonistic relationship with the gods, Jotunheim plays a crucial role in many Norse myths.

The realm is also home to Utgard, the great fortress of the giants, where many famous tales of Thor's adventures take place. The mysterious Iron Wood, where various monsters dwell, lies within its borders.
