God of Peace and Plenty
Freyr is one of the Vanir, the gods most closely tied to fertility, growth, and prosperity. He is associated with peace, good seasons, and the kind of abundance that keeps communities alive. While many Norse gods are defined by conflict, Freyr is defined by what people hope for after conflict: stable harvests, calm weather, and a future that feels secure.
He is the son of Njord and the brother of Freyja. After the Aesir-Vanir war, Freyr comes to live among the Aesir, becoming a bridge between the two divine families.
Freyr is also strongly linked to Alfheim, the realm of the elves. His presence there reinforces his role as a bright and generous god, connected to natural vitality and the gentle forces that make life flourish.
