God of Sea and Prosperity
Njord (Njörðr) is one of the Vanir, a group of gods strongly tied to nature, fertility, and prosperity. He rules over the sea and the winds that fill sails, making him a god sailors and traders would call on for safe journeys and good fortune.
After the war between the Aesir and Vanir, Njord comes to live among the Aesir as part of a peace agreement. His presence in Asgard represents unity between two divine families and shows how wealth and peace can be as powerful as battle.
Njord is also remembered as the father of Freyr and Freyja, two of the most important figures in Norse myth. Through them, Njord’s influence spreads from the sea into fertility, love, and abundance.
