Freya

Goddess of Love, Beauty, War, and Seidr Magic

Freya, Goddess of Love and War

The Vanir Goddess

Freya is one of the most powerful and revered goddesses in Norse mythology. Originally from Vanaheim, she became one of the leaders of the Vanir gods and later joined the Aesir as part of a peace agreement following the Aesir-Vanir War.

As a practitioner of seidr magic, a powerful form of Norse sorcery, Freya was said to have taught this art to Odin himself. She rides a chariot pulled by two cats and possesses a magical falcon cloak that allows the wearer to fly.

In her role as a goddess of love, she rules over Folkvangr, where she receives half of those who die in battle, with the other half going to Odin's Valhalla. She is also associated with fertility, beauty, and gold.
