The Legend
The falcon cloak is a magical garment sewn from feathers, belonging to the goddess Freyja. When worn, it allows its wearer to take the form of a falcon and fly swiftly between the Nine Worlds, crossing distances no god could travel on foot.
Though it belongs to Freyja, the cloak is most often seen on the shoulders of Loki, who borrows it whenever a task calls for speed and stealth. In it he flies to the land of the giants to rescue Idun, and again to scout the hall of Thrym after the theft of Thor's hammer.
The garment is a favorite tool of the trickster, and a reminder that the gods' greatest deeds often depend on borrowed magic. A similar feather cloak is sometimes said to belong to Frigg, lending its wings to errands across the worlds.
