Borr

Father of Odin and One of the Earliest Figures in the Norse Creation Story

Borr father of Odin

Who Is Borr

Borr is one of the earliest beings named in the Norse myths. He is the son of Buri the first godlike figure uncovered from the ice by the primal cow Audumla. Borr continues this ancient bloodline and becomes the father of Odin Vili and Ve the gods who will shape the world itself.

Very little is recorded about the deeds of Borr yet his importance is clear. Through him the lineage of the Aesir is established linking the earliest divine ancestors to the later ruling gods of Asgard.

Borr also forms a symbolic bridge between the ancient primal forces of creation and the emerging order represented by his children.
