Gullinbursti, meaning “Golden Bristles,” is the radiant boar forged by the master dwarves Brokkr and Sindri as one of the divine treasures of the Aesir. Shining with fiery golden hair, the boar could run faster than any horse, on land, through air, or even across water, glowing brightly enough to illuminate even the darkest night.
After being crafted in a contest to prove dwarven superiority, Gullinbursti was gifted to the god Freyr, one of the Vanir. The boar became Freyr’s loyal mount and a symbol of prosperity, courage, and divine craftsmanship.
As one of the great mythic creatures of Norse lore, Gullinbursti stands alongside famed steeds like Sleipnir and Gullfaxi — a testament to the dwarves’ unparalleled skill and the gods’ reliance on their otherworldly creations.
